What Is Blue Apron?
Blue Apron is a weekly meal delivery service. You can choose to receive meals for two people (three meals per week for $59.94) or four people (two or four meals per week for $69.92 or $139.84, respectively). The Blue Apron website allows you to specify what type of foods you’d like to receive (for instance, Mike and I don’t eat most meat but do eat fish and shellfish) and also to customize your weekly menu (you’re able to choose which three meals you want to receive out of the six they’ve planned for the week.) You can also skip as many weeks as you want, paying only for the weeks you receive.

This summer things aren’t really too summery around here. We spent two summers ago dining out on our balcony by candlelight and coming up with new summery drinks to sip. Last summer our balcony didn’t see quite as much use, but we still managed to find time to enjoy our perfect summer playlist. This summer, with our upcoming move, has been the summer of boxes and craigslist sales and stress. In the midst of the chaos, we’ve had to carve out at least a few perfect summer moments to keep ourselves sane. Thankfully, there are tacos and there is wine.

I know, I know. You guys have probably made baba ghanoush a million times and I’m the ONLY one sitting over here in my corner being a fussy-pants about roasting an eggplant. I honestly don’t know that I’ve touched an eggplant before this, which is ridiculous considering how much I love Mediterranean food. After illness, a battle with my menstrual cup (I’ll spare you details), and some other issues, I’ve had three weeks now where I’ve only exercised once per week in a hot yoga class. In some ways it was a good break — my knees were a wreck and it gave them a chance to rest. But it also got me out of my morning workout habit. I don’t know why, but whenever I take a break, I get anxious about starting up my workouts again! It’s like I think I won’t be able to do it after taking some time off. This morning, though, I finally got myself to the gym to lift weights for the first time in three weeks.
